That friendly, family restaurant that boasts as the local heart, where the community gathers for food and unparalleled service. I can’t remember my town without it. I don’t remember the first time I went. I know everywhere that I have ever sat. Mrs. G taught me an amazing trick at table 13, orders likely rang in under table 12, as our party needed that squishing-service where they combine their seating and is numbered of the first table from back of house. Once the drinks made it to our table of 6, Mrs. G quickly started scrunching the paper on a straw all the way to one side. She slid the scrunched up straw paper off the straw, and dropped it on the table in front of me. Then stuck the straw into her water holding her thumb on top. Mrs. G let her thumb off and let the water held inside fall onto the scrunched up straw paper. The straw paper began wiggling and expanding “It’s a worm! hahaeehee” Mrs. G shouted, clearly having great pride in her trick. I work there as a server now. I’m still new. I move too fast. I get overwhelmed. It’s only day 4 alone, training all done. Friday, Saturday, Sunday finished me with $356 in tips. Happy Number for a gal on her first weekend alone. Friday being my first day alone was not the manager’s ideal plan! but I asked to pick up a dropped shift πŸ™‚ and quite lucked out with a full weekend booking out the gate. Lovely for me.
